Bert Burger has been designing, innovating and building sandwich construction and vacuum bagged surfboards for 23 years, originating out of Mandurah Western Australia.
A likable guy who is in tune with both the older and younger surfers. A surfer and a shaper as well as an innovator. There are many standard industry practices which were pioneered and invented by Bert Burger. His philosophy has always been to have the best quality each surfboard can be.
Sunova Kiteboard Testing at Lakey Peak, Sumbawa, Indonesia
A brief video of some recent Sunova Kiteboard testing at Lakey Peak in Indonesia by Kite ‘n’ Surf’s Rob Kidnie. Possibly the best wave-kiting spot in the world. Rob tested the Sunova KK5’10 and KK6’1,both with different foot strap positions.
These two Kiteboards were designed by Shaper of the Year, Bert Burger, with consultation from Rob.
Full balsa construction was used, including the famous Bert Burger parabolic rail, using 3mm balsa strips, balsa deck and bottom skins.
