Sunova Surfboards - Shortboards Review - Professional by Dr.Geoff
Sunova Pro Shortboard Review

"I was attracted to Sunova after reading about Bert's boards in TRACKS, sometime in 2007.

Being a big guy, 6'4'' and around 99 kg, and really wanting to try a parabolic rail board. I contacted Bert Burger & the crew at www.sunovasurfboards.com.

After reading the informative web-site, including the Board Model Specs, and with some further personal advice from Bert & Greg, I settled on a Sunova Balsa 6'10'' Professional model.

I was stoked beyond belief when my beautiful new stick arrived in Feb 2008.

Prior to a South Pacific surf trip planned for June 08, and once again with expert personal advice from Bert & Greg, I ordered another longer board. This time a 7'1'', Cherry-wood veneer Professional model.
Both these boards have more than proven themselves: handling both my local break, Merewether and a number of challenging South Pacific waves.

Apart from being amazingly eye-catching and beautifully crafted, these boards are very strong, fine-railed, bouyant - but not with the "corky" feel that characterizes many of the other EPS boards on the market, and super responsive.

I'm an older guy (63) who's been surfing for 52 years, but I have not had so much stoke on a board since my first twin-fin some 40 years ago.

I would absolutely recommend these boards to anyone (from the youngest slashers through to the older surfer) who wants to surf their waves on cutting-edge equipment that absolutely thrills".

Best wishes to all the Sunova Crew.
