Sunova Surfboards - Hybrids Review - 8 Ball by Chuck Bragg

Chuck Bragg – Another 10 year old Sunova!!

We met at Del Mar Fairgrounds the weekend of the Sacred Craft Surfboard expo and you recorded my story of getting a Bert Burger original board while on vacation with my family in 1999 in Bunbury Australia.

I was hoping to win another SUNOVA that day from the drawing you had, but I guess it was not my luck to win that day.

Well, here are some photos of that board I told you about to prove that it's still just as beautiful and functional 10 years later!

I also bought an 8'0" mini-mal and rode it down in WA. When I got back to Japan I was showing it some of my Japanese surf buddies and we took it to a local surfshop and I sold it for over 2000.00 U.S. dollar back then, which was enough to just about pay for my 3 week family vacation to Bunbury! It was just amazing.

I have surfed this board all over the planet in the last 10 years and it is still just as fast, fun and beautiful.

I surfed it the first 3 weeks all up and down the southwest corner of WA with my good friend Lance Kenny who lived in Bunbury. I took it back to Japan and surfed it back there for three years while stationed there with the Navy.

Then I brought it back to the U.S. and I have surfed it just about everywhere the Navy has taken me in the last 10 years including some pretty good size North shore Hawaii, Mainland Mexico, Baja Mexico, and now here at home in Point Loma at Sunset Cliffs.

As you can see the board is still absolutely beautiful! Even after smashing around cargo holds, and being man-handled by airport staff.

When Bert teamed up with Nev I thought about getting a Firewire, but for some reason they just don't have the same appeal to me as the SUNOVA.

Well, I didn't think I would ever get to see another SUNOVA unless I one day went back to WA for a visit. Now to see you guys stretching out to the U.S. I think is really great!

Take care and talk to you soon. Please tell Bert thanks for making such a great board and keep leading the way Sunova!

ALOHA!
