Pro Longboard Model 9’2” Review – LP92 By Brett Merifield
I have three different Sunova Surfboard Longboards in my quiver to capture every possible wave out there! I have been riding these boards since 2002, mostly in the South West of WA where I live, Yallingup is my home break and I’m fortunate enough to surf nearly every day of the year so I have had plenty of experimenting on different models.
9’2” Pro Longboard Model – LP92
This is the best high performance all rounder board as it will surf well in waves 2ft to 8ft. If you have more than one board in your quiver, I find this board performs really well in small sucky beach breaks and waves such as 3ft to 6ft Yallingup or Three Bears which are reef breaks.
With modernised longboarding having more and more shortboard manoeuvres happening in the competition criteria, you will be blown away with what you can do on this board. Whether it is a hard bottom turn straight up to the top of the wave pulling off a sic reo and full round house cutback and still fit in some nose riding, you really will have a blast on this board.
Best Fin Set Up: I find the best fin set up is the PG5 tail fin with PG7 side fins.
I strongly believe that you need to have a few surfs on these boards before you will really appreciate them and believe me the more and more you surf these boards your surfing will just improve remarkably out of site.
With the construction of Sunova Surfboard’s having a Balsa bottom skin, once you learn how to use the flex of the board and get the magic twang you will get so much drive out of your bottom turns and be able to get around foam sections of the wave from way back behind the pocket.
These really are the best boards on the planet!
